A Message from Anthony Auriemma MD, JD:
“During residency I became aware of the obesity epidemic and how it was affecting my patients. Diseases like diabetes, hypertension, infertility, cancer, acid reflux, arthritis, and skin problems were often the direct result of, or made worse by obesity. The real treatment for these diseases involved treating obesity, not adding another medication to cover up the problem. As a bariatric physician, I am one of the few physicians that take patients off their medication, not start new ones. By attacking obesity with intensive behavior modification, dietary changes, exercise, and sometimes medication, we are often able to “cure” many chronic conditions. I am dedicated to helping patients lose weight in order to improve their health and enhance their quality of life.”
